KBO sets single-season sellout record

The Korean baseball league announced Tuesday it has set a record for the most sellouts in a season since its expansion to

10 clubs in 2015.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said through 232 games played as of Sunday, there had been 69 sellouts —

surpassing the previous mark of 68 sellouts in 2015.

The Hanwha Eagles are leading the way, having sold out 21 out of their first 23 home games so far. The Doosan Bears and

the Kia Tigers are tied for second with nine sellouts each.

With about 32 percent of the games in the books through Sunday, KBO teams have drawn just over 3.32 million fans. It's a

32-percent jump from the same point 추천 last season.

The KBO said all 10 teams have enjoyed upticks in their home attendance numbers this year compared to 2023, with the

Eagles seeing a 65-percent rise. Last year, they averaged 7,180 fans at their 12,000-seat Hanwha Life Eagles Park in

Daejeon, some 140 kilometers south of Seoul. So far this year, 11,844 fans on average have attended the Eagles' home

games.

Last Thursday, the KBO surpassed the 3-million mark at the fastest pace since the 2015 expansion.

The attendance record for a single season is 8.4 million fans in 2017.
